Pioneers 75... United Tribes 71
The Miles Community College Pioneer women salvaged a road split after rallying from an early 18-4 deficit at United Tribes for a hotly contested 75-71 MonDak Conference win.
Jessica Tomkins (Melbourne, Australia) and Ella Paleaae-Cook (Brisbane, Australia) combined for 41 points and 21 rebounds in the win. Tomkins scored 25 (11-18 FG, 3-6 FT) and grabbed 11 rebounds while Paleaae-Cook came up with 16 points (6-10 FG, 2-3 3's, 2-3 FT) and 10 rebounds. MCC had 26 assists on 30 baskets led by India Blyth (Melbourne, Australia) with 9 and Julia Paolette (Buenos Aires, Argentina) with 8. Paoletta scored 11 points (3-13 FG, 0-3 3's, 5-6 FT) as well.
The Pioneers looked to be in rough shape early but went on a 14-0 run to end the 1st quarter and then took a 38-34 lead to the halftime break. They stretched the lead to 9 at the end of the 3rd quarter before the T-Birds rallied to tie the game late before the Pioneers pulled out the win.
