Turnovers Cost Pioneers in Loss to Dakota College

The Miles Community College Pioneers turned the ball over 25 times and the DCB Lumberjacks took full advantage turning those turnovers into 21 points as the Lumberjacks used a big 3rd quarter to surge past the Pioneers 78-70 on Monday night in Miles City, MT.

The Pioneers trailed 34-32 at halftime but Bottineau stretched that lead to 58-48 with a 24-16 3rd quarter. The bulk of the Lumberjack offense came at the hands of Kiara Comeaux and Amari Butler. 

Butler (Sophomore - Frankin, LA) scorched the nets for 31 points (11-24 FG, 2-10 3's, 7-11 FT) grabbed 6 rebounds, and recorded 10 steals to lead the way for the Lumberjacks. Comeaux (Carencro, LA) accounted for 22 points (10-19 FG, 2-4 3's, 0-3 FT) and dished out 9 assists and collecting 8 rebounds.  

Miles Community College had 4 players reach double figures and 2 of those players recored double-doubles. Tyla Scorah (Freshman - Australia) had 17 points (6-13 FG, 2-5 3's, 3-4 FT) and 10 rebounds while Jessica Makayabo (Sophomore - Eastlake, TX) had 16 points (4-13 FG, 0-2 3's, 8-11 FT) and 10 rebounds. Lainey Smith (Sophomore - Miles City, MT) added 14 points (5-12 FG, 4-9 3's) to go along with 7 rebounds. Isabella Gurie (Sophomore - Columbus, MT) chipped in 12 points (5-8 FG, 2-2 FT).
