VOLLEYBALL OPENS THE SEASON WITH A SWEEP

Miles City, MT – The Pioneers headed into the 2018 season with a 3-0 sweep against Rocky Mountain College JV. 

The first set was a close one, but the Pioneers came out ready to play and closed it out with a 25-19 victory.  The second set was all Pioneers, as they cruised to a 25-13 set victory.  The third and final set saw the Pioneers clinch the game victory with a 25-16 win. 

Tori Ogolin and Samantha Bonenberger led the team with 14 assists each.  The Pioneers had 31 kills in the game, being led by Briannah Quick with 6.  Ceeara Staiger, Hailee Kuske, and Taylor Stahl each contributed 5 kills apiece.  On defense, Kailey Thomson led the way with 34 digs.  Hailee Kuske and Taylor Stahl each recorded one block.

Coach Chase Soennichsen was pleased with how his team played, "All 13 players contributed to the victory, it was a great offensive and defensive balance for our first match."

The Pioneers will take on the Jacks of Dakota College at Bottineau in Bismarck, ND on Friday, August 24 at 12:00 pm.
