NORTHEY'S 25 POINTS LEADS PIONEERS PAST TRAPPERS, 78-69

The Pioneer men's basketball team took down the Trappers of Northwest College on Friday night.  The Trappers jumped out to a 5-0 lead to start the game, but the Pioneers would not go quietly.  The Trappers led at the half, 41-37.  The Pioneers came out in the second half ready to play and proved to be too much for the Trappers.  MCC shot 52.8% from the field, 50% from three and 80% from the free throw line.  The hot shooting of the Pioneers eventually allowed them to pull away from the Trappers and get the victory, 78-69.

Deondre Northey led the team in scoring with 25 points, followed by Issac Abergut with 13, Evan Harrell with 11 and Gedeon Buzangu with 10.  Buzangu had 10 rebounds to complete the double-double and lead the team.  Northey and Jayvon Lewis each had five assists to lead the Pioneers.

MCC will face Sheridan College tomorrow at 4:00 pm in Sheridan, WY.
