PIONEERS FALL TO # 15 CASPER THUNDERBIRDS

PIONEERS FALL TO # 15 CASPER THUNDERBIRDS

MCC traveled to Casper to take on the #15 team in the nation, the Casper Thunderbirds, on Thursday evening.  Casper came out strong and took a lead on the Pioneers, but MCC fought hard and stuck within 10 points of the Thunderbirds for most of the first half.  In the last few minutes before the half, Casper started to pull away and the halftime deficit for the Pioneers was 32-51.  MCC matched the Thunderbird's effort in the second half, but the Pioneers couldn't overcome the first half deficit and ended up falling, 66-85.

Deondre Northey led the way for the Pioneers with 26 points off the bench.  Gedeon Buzangu contributed 15 to the effort.  Buzangu completed the double-double with 17 rebounds to lead the team.  Jayvon Lewis led the team in assists with six.

The Pioneers will suit up again on Saturday afternoon at 3:00 pm when they face Rocky Mountain College JV.  Join the team afterwards for the raffle ticket drawing and dinner.
