WOMEN'S BASKETBALL IMPROVES TO 6-0

The women's basketball team faced RMCJV on Thursday night in the Kailey Gymnasium.  It was all Pioneers from the start, as they went on a 17-0 run to begin the game.  MCC's relentless defense had the Battlin' Bears flustered from the start and they were unable to get anything going.  The Pioneers headed into the half with a 56-14 lead.  MCC's defense was the star of the game.  The Pioneers forced 37 turnovers and scored 46 points off of those turnovers.  It was an easy victory for the Pioneers, 98-34.

Kylee Meredith was the leading scorer with 18 points, followed by Patrycja Jaworska with 13.  Carmela Garcia and Kate Golovkina each added 12.  Caitlyn Barkins and Laura Moya led the team in rebounds with five apiece.  Josselin Geer, Garcia, Golovkina, and Meredith each had three assists to lead the team.

The Pioneers will be on the court again on Saturday at 1:00 pm in the Kailey Gymnasium to take on the Jacks of Dakota College at Bottineau.
