PIONEERS FALL TO WILDCATS

Miles City, MT - Pioneer volleyball was in Wahpeton, ND on Monday, August 27 to take on the Wildcats of North Dakota State College of Science for their first conference game of the season.  The Wildcats proved too much for the Pioneers and MCC fell, 1-3.  The scores were as follows:  12-25, 19-25, 25-18 and 20-25.

Samantha Bonenberger led the team with 32 of the team's 34 assists.  The Pioneers had 37 kills in the game, being led by Ceeara Staiger with 14. On defense, Kailey Thomson led the way with 14 digs.  Hailee Kuske recorded 3 blocks to lead the team.  MCC had 6 aces on the night.

First conference game jitters were noticeable, "commented coach Chase Soennichsen.  "Once we settled in, we saw a lot of good things against one of the top teams in the region.  We know what we need to work on and we'll dig in and get the job done next time."

The Pioneers will be in action again on Friday, August 31 when they travel to Sheridan, WY to take on Sheridan College at 7:00 pm.
