The first match of the day on Saturday was against Dawson Community College.  After starting out strong and winning the first set, the excitement soon faded as Dawson would take the final three sets to win 3-1.  The set scores were as follows:  25-20, 16-25, 22-25 and 11-25.

Ceeara Staiger led the team in kills with nine.  Bonenberger had 16 assists and three aces.  Defensively, Thomson led the team with 20 digs.

In the final game of the weekend, the Pioneers faced the Trappers of Northwest College and lost 0-3.  The set scores were as follows:  24-26, 19-25 and 18-25.

Briannah Quick led the team with six kills.  Bonenberger once again led the team in assists with nine and the defensive leader was again Thomson with 15 digs.

The Pioneers will be in action again on Wednesday, September 5 for their first home game of the season against Rocky Mountain College JV at 7:00 pm in the Kailey Gymnasium.  This will be a blue-out game and all fans are encouraged to wear their Pioneer blue.
