FOUR SCORE IN DOUBLE FIGURES, AS MCC IMPROVES TO 17-0

Four games in one week turned into four victories for the #22 MCC women's basketball team.  In the final game of the roadtrip, the Pioneers faced the two-time defending MonDak Champion NDSCS Wildcats.  The Pioneers defeated the Wildcats in the opening game of the season in early November and this one would go the same way.  The Pioneers started out slowly and trailed at the end of the first quarter, 13-17.  The second quarter was a different story, however, and MCC was able to outscore NDSCS, 19-10, taking a 32-27 lead into the locker room at the half.  The Pioneers defense was relentless, causing 26 turnovers, and wearing down the Wildcats to get their 17th victory of the season, 72-57.

Claire Borot led the team in scoring with 19 points, followed by Bre Moea'i with 15, Lucia Salazar with 13, and Patrycja Jaworska with 10.  Borot had five rebounds to lead the team, followed by Moea'i and Salazar, each with four rebounds.  Kylee Meredith and Jaworska led with three assists apiece.

The Pioneers will be in action again on Thursday, January 17 against Lake Region State College in the Kailey Gymnasium at 5:30 pm.
