PIONEER BASEBALL'S RILEY SIGNS WITH MSUB

PIONEER BASEBALL'S RILEY SIGNS WITH MSUB

Head coach Jeff Brabant announced that sophomore infielder, Will Riley, is planning to continue his career as a student athlete next season at Montana State University Billings.

Riley is originally from Lismore, New South Wales.  Will is in his second year with MCC.  In his debut season with the Pioneers, Riley had 76 hits with a batting average of .440, good for 17th in the nation, and a on base percentage of .505.

"Under the guidance of Coach Brabant and Coach O, I felt like I was given the best opportunities to be successful," Riley commented.

Coach Brabant is extremely proud of his infielder, "Will is a great story...came as a walk-on from across the globe.  Bought in, worked hard, didn't take any days off...hit .440 last year as a freshman and should have been an All-American but got cheated I feel.  He is relentless in his daily pursuit of excellence and now he is a poster child of our program...he exemplifies everything that this program is about.  His best days are still to come and I can't wait to watch him...fortunately he'll only be a few hours down the road. Coach Suttion is getting a great one here!  I wish I could have Will for 2 more years!"

Riley is looking forward to a number of things about playing baseball at the next level, primarily the use of analytics and statistics in gameplay that they use at MSUB.

MSUB is a Division II school and a member of the Great Northwest Athletic Conference (GNAC) within the NCAA.
