PIONEER BASEBALL SENDS BLOXHAM TO NEXT LEVEL

PIONEER BASEBALL SENDS BLOXHAM TO NEXT LEVEL

Head coach Jeff Brabant announced that sophomore catcher/outfielder, Nate Bloxham, is planning to continue his career as a student athlete next season at Montana State University Billings.

Bloxham is originally from South Jordan, UT and is in his second year with MCC.  Nate's batting average his freshman season was .377 and he was 8th in the country in triples, with seven.

Bloxham feels prepared for this next step thanks to his time at MCC.  "Learning from Coach Brabant and Coach O, I learned that the mental game of baseball is able to create a successful atmosphere," Bloxham commented.

"Nate has a great personality," commented head coach Jeff Brabant.  "I start the quote that way because that pours into everything else that he is about.  I've never had a player so energetic and thrilled to be at practice and get more reps than Nate. That propels into everything he does from the weight room to the classroom.  Nate is a leader through and through and that attitude breeds success on the field.  Nate led us in a lot of offensive categories last year and I expect he'll do the same this year.  He is a special kind of athlete and he will give Coach Sutton two great years and I will get to watch him prosper!  I wish I could have Nate for two more years!"

"I'm excited to play against that level of competition and to surround myself with people that will inspire me to get better and help me grow," commented Bloxham when asked about playing at MSUB.

MSUB is a Division II school and a member of the Great Northwest Athletic Conference (GNAC) within the NCAA.
