PIONEERS FALL TO WESTERN NEBRASKA

GAME 1

A Walk-Off Sealed the win for Western Nebraska in the first half of Saturday's double-header.  The Pioneers fell to Western Nebraska, 6-5.  The game was tied at five with Western Nebraska batting in the bottom of the seventh when  Luis Alcantara was hit by a pitch, driving in a run.  MCC lost despite out-hitting Western Nebraska ten to nine.

Chase Linn was on the hill for the Pioneers. He lasted four and a third innings, allowing five hits and four runs while striking out two.  Chase Feller threw one and two-thirds innings out of the bullpen.

MCC ten hits on the day.  Will Riley, Lewis Johnson, and James Martin each had multiple hits for the Pioneers. Riley went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead the Pioneers in hits. MCC was sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error.  Martinhad the most chances in the field with nine.

GAME 2

Despite a 4-run deficit in the first inning, the Pioneers almost came all the way back, eventually falling 5-4 to Western Nebraska in the final game of the series.  MCC managed four runs in the failed comeback. Jordan Thomson, James Martin, Will Riley, and TY Jones all had RBIs in the effort.

Anthony Bleggi was on the mound for the Pioneers. He lasted four innings, allowing nine hits and five runs while striking out five.  Sean O'Hagan threw two innings in relief.

Cade Stuff, Jared Bellows, Martin, Lewis Johnson, Jones, and Riley all had one hit to lead the Pioneers.  Jones had a home run in the fifth inning. 

The Pioneers didn't commit a single error in the field. Nate Bloxham had the most chances in the field with eight.
