PIONEERS BEGIN A WEEK OF GAMES IN ARIZONA

Game 1

(Tucson, AZ) The Pioneers first game in Tucson, AZ against Gustavus, ended in a 6-6 tie on Saturday. MCC tied the game on a walk in the sixth inning.  The Pioneers got on the board in the second inning when Keith Manby doubled to score one.   In the top of the sixth inning, the Pioneers tied things up at six when Jared Bellows drew a walk, scoring one run. 

Lewis Johnson, James Martin, and Manby all managed multiple hits.  Manby, Martin, and Johnson all had two hits to lead the Pioneers. MCC didn't commit a single error in the field. Nate Bloxham had the most chances in the field with 12.

Game 2

The Pioneers had all cylinders firing on offense on Sunday, winning big over Fraser Valley Cardinals 16-1.  MCC got things started in the first inning when TY Jones drew a walk, scoring one run.  Chase Linn got the win for the Pioneers.  He went four innings, allowing zero runs on two hits and striking out four. Jayden Hamblin, Zack Jensen, and Ben Jones all put in work in relief out of the bullpen, steering their team towards the victory. 

Cade Stuff led MCC with two hits in three at bats.

The Pioneers will be back in action on Sunday, March 3 when they face the Fraser Valley Cardinals at 9:00 am and the University of Fraser Valley at 11:30 am in Tucson, AZ.
