PIONEERS SWEEP CENTRAL LAKES COLLEGE

Game 1

(Tucson, AZ)  The Pioneers defeated Central Lakes College, 9-2 on Sunday thanks to a timely five runs in a big third inning. Lewis Johnson, Jordon Thomson, Kiran CarcaryJames Martin, and Will Riley each had RBIs in the big inning. opened up scoring in the first inning, when TY Jones doubled on a 1-2 count, scoring one run.  The Pioneers notched five runs in the third inning. MCC's big bats in the inning were led by singles by Thomson, Carcary, Martin, and Riley and a double by Johnson.  

Luke Turner led the Pioneers to victory on the hill. He surrendered two runs on six hits over five innings, striking out five. Chase Feller threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen.

The Pioneers totaled 15 hits. Martin, Riley, Jones, Carcary, Thomson, and Johnson each racked up multiple hits for MCC. Riley and Martin each managed three hits to lead MCC.

Game 2

The Pioneers had all cylinders firing on offense on Sunday, winning big over Central Lakes College 11-3.  MCC opened up scoring in the first inning. TY Jones's sac fly scored one run for Miles Community College Pioneers Varsity.  The Pioneers put up three runs in the fifth inning, driven by a single by Kiran Carcary and a sacrifice fly by James Martin.

Keith Manby led the Pioneers to victory on the pitcher's mound. He allowed three hits and two runs over six innings, striking out nine. Zack Jensen threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen.  

The Pioneers racked up seven hits. Martin and Nate Bloxham had two hits to lead the team.
