PIONEERS FINISH WEEK STRONG

(Tucson, AZ) The Pioneers stole the lead late and defeated Riverland Community College, 9-1 on Monday. The game was tied at one with MCC batting in the top of the sixth when Lewis Johnson singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run.  The victory was secured for the Pioneers thanks to nine runs in the sixth inning. Nate Bloxham, Johnson, Cade StuffKiran Carcary,  and Will Riley each drove in runs during the inning.

Anthony Bleggi was credited with the victory for Pioneers, surrendering one run on two hits over seven innings, striking out seven.  

MCC tallied nine hits on the day. Johnson and Jordan Thomson each collected two hits to lead the team.
