PIONEERS GO 2-1 IN FIRST HOME STAND

Game 1

(Miles City, MT)  The Pioneers took the victory in dramatic walk-off fashion, thanks to a walk-off sacrifice fly at the end of the game to defeat Prairie Baseball Academy . The game was tied at six with the Pioneers batting in the bottom of the seventh when TY Jones's sac fly scored one run for MCC.  Prairie Baseball Academy scored four runs in the fifth inning, but the Pioneers still managed to pull out the victory.  

Luke Turner earned the victory on the hill for the Pioneers. He went seven innings, allowing six runs on eight hits and striking out eight.

Nate Bloxham went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead the Pioneers in hits.

Game 2

Game two of the triple header was a heartbreaker for the Pioneers as they lost the lead late in a 4-2 defeat. The game was tied at two with Prairie Baseball Academy batting in the top of the seventh until they scored two more runs to seal the victory.  In the first inning, Prairie Baseball Academy got their offense started with a home run on a 1-1 count, scoring two runs.  MCC knotted the game up at two in the bottom of the sixth inning, when Chase Feller grounded into a double play, but still managed to knock in one run.

Keith Manby started the game on the mound for the Pioneers. He lasted six innings, allowing three hits and two runs while striking out eight.    Jared Bellows threw one inning in relief.

Kiran CarcaryNate BloxhamWill Riley, and TY Jones each collected one hit to lead the Pioneers.

Game 3

In the third and final game of the day, the Pioneers took the lead late and defeated Prairie Baseball Academy 12-9 on Saturday. The game was tied at nine with MCC batting in the bottom of the sixth when the Pioneers scored one run on a stolen base.  MCC got things started in the first inning when Lewis Johnson singled on a 3-2 count, scoring one run.  The Pioneers scored four runs in the third inning.  Jones had an RBI grand slam in the inning to lead the run scoring.  Prairie Baseball Academy scored four runs in the fifth inning. MCC evened things up at nine in the bottom of the fifth inning when Jones drew a walk, scoring one run.  TY Jones led the Pioneers to victory by driving in six runs. He went 3-for-3 at the plate.  Jones drove in runs on a grand slam in the third, a double in the fourth, and a walk in the fifth. 

Chris Rofe got the win for the Pioneers. He allowed zero hits and zero runs over two and a third innings, striking out four.  Chase Feller threw two-thirds of an inning in relief out of the bullpen.  Jones started the game for the Pioneers.  He allowed four hits and five runs over four innings, striking out five

MCC socked one home run on the day when Jones had a homer in the third inning.

MCC tallied ten hits on the day.  Jones, Johnson, and Carson Hoke each had multiple hits.  Johnson and Jones each managed three hits to lead the Pioneers.  Will Riley led with three stolen bases, as they ran wild on the base paths with nine stolen bases.
