Game 1
(Miles City, MT) Lewis Johnson was an RBI machine on Sunday, driving in four on two hits to lead the Pioneers past Lake Region State College, 11-1 on Sunday. Johnson drove in runs on a wild pitch in the first and a grand slam in the third. MCC got things moving in the first inning, when Will Riley doubled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run. The Pioneers put up four runs in the fourth inning. Nate Bloxham and Jared Bellows each drove in runs during the inning.
Anthony Bleggi led the the Pioneers to victory on the pitcher's mound. He went five innings, allowing one run on three hits and striking out four.
MCC tallied two home runs on the day. Bloxham had a four bagger in the fourth inning. Johnson had a homer in the third inning.
The Pioneers saw the ball well today, racking up eight hits in the game. Riley and Johnson each collected multiple hits. Riley led with three hits in three at bats. MCC was sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error. Bellows had the most chances in the field with five.
Game 2
The Pioneers asserted their will over Lake Region State College on their way to an easy, 26-2 victory in the second half of Sunday's doubleheader. MCC got things started in the first inning when a wild pitch allowed one run across the plate. The Pioneers put up nine runs in the second inning thanks to home runs by Will Riley and Lewis Johnson, a single by Kiran Carcary, and a double by James Martin.
Ty Jones was the winning pitcher forthe Pioneers. He lasted five innings, allowing five hits and two runs while striking out five.
MCC tallied two home runs on the day. Johnson went yard in the second inning and Riley had a long ball in the second inning.
The Pioneers saw the ball well today, racking up 17 hits in the game. Jones, Keith Manby, and Carcary each collected two hits to leadthe team. MCC was sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. Manby made the most plays with four. Martin led the Pioneers with three stolen bases, as they ran wild on the base paths with eight stolen bases.
The Pioneers will be in action again on Wednesday, April 3 to Face Dawson Community College at home at at 3:00 pm.
