PIONEERS DEFEAT BUCS, 8-5

(Miles City, MT) The Pioneers ran off with the lead late in the game in an 8-5 victory over Dawson on Wednesday.   MCC got things moving in the first inning, when Koa Hashimoto singled on a 1-1 count, scoring two runs. The game was tied at five with MCC batting in the bottom of the seventh when Chase Feller singled on a 1-1 count, scoring one run, and the Pioneers didn't look back.

Zack Jensen was the winning pitcher for the Pioneers. He surrendered zero runs on zero hits over one inning, striking out one and walking one. Luke Turner recorded the last three outs to earn the save.  Chris Rofe started the game on the mound for MCC. He went two innings, allowing zero runs on one hit, striking out one and walking zero.

The Pioneers tallied 13 hits. Jayden Hamblin and TY Jones each collected multiple hits. Hamblin went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead the team.

The Pioneers will travel to Bottineau, ND to face Dakota College on Saturday, April 6 & Sunday, April 7 with doubleheaders starting at 12:00 pm each day.
