PIONEERS DOMINANT IN BOTTINEAU

Game 1

(Bottineau, ND)  Keith Manby wasted no opportunities at the plate in the first half of Saturday's doubleheader, driving in seven on three hits to lead the Pioneers past Dakota College, 18-2.  Manby drove in runs on a grand slam in the first, a walk in the second, and a double in the third.  MCC secured the victory thanks to 12 runs in the first inning. The big inning was driven by singles by James Martin and Will Riley, home runs by Manby and Lewis Johnson, and TY Jones.  

Luke Turner pitched the Pioneers to victory. He surrendered zero runs on three hits over two innings, striking out one and walking zero.  Jack Stead threw three innings in relief out of the bullpen.

The Pioneers socked two home runs on the day. Manby went deep in the first inning. Johnson had a four bagger in the first inning.

MCC tallied 12 hits on the day.  Martin, Manby, and Riley each collected multiple hits.  Manby and Martin each had three hits to lead the team.  The Pioneers didn't commit a single error in the field. Jared Bellows had six chances in the field, the most on the team.

Game 2

The Pioneers won big over Dakota College in the second half of the doublehearder, 19-2 on Saturday.  Keith Manby was credited with the victory for the Pioneers.  He went five innings, allowing two runs on three hits and striking out five.

MCC launched one home run on the day when Nate Bloxham put one out in the second inning.

The Pioneers collected 13 hits on the day.  Carson HokeLewis JohnsonJames Martin, and Jared Bellows all managed two hits to lead the team.   TY Jones led MCC with two stolen bases, as they ran wild on the base paths with eight stolen bases. The Pioneers didn't commit a single error in the field. Bloxham had six chances in the field, the most on the team.
