Game 1

(Bottineau, ND) Will Riley tallied four hits in the first half of Sunday's doubleheader and led the Pioneers to a 13-3 win over Dakota College. Riley singled in the second, tripled in the fourth, doubled in the fifth, and doubled in the sixth.  MCC got things moving in the first inning, when Riley grounded out, scoring one run.  The Pioneers put up four runs in the fifth inning thanks to a walk by Cade Stuff, a home run by Nate Bloxham, and a double by Riley.

Anthony Bleggi was the winning pitcher for the Pioneers. He lasted six innings, allowing eight hits and three runs while striking out five.

MCC launched one home run on the day. Bloxham had a homer in the fifth inning.

The Pioneers scattered 12 hits in the game. Riley, Bloxham, and Kiran Carcary each racked up multiple hits.  Riley went 4-for-5 at the plate to lead the team in hits.

Game 2

Carson Hoke had the hot hand on Sunday, tallying four hits and leading the Pioneers to a 13-6 victory in the second half of the doubleheader. Hoke doubled in the third, singled in the fourth, tripled in the fifth, and singled in the sixth.  Both pitching staffs had their hands full, frequently dealing with runners on base. MCC collected 14 hits and Dakota College had eight.  The Pioneers pulled away for good with six runs in the third inning. In the third, Lewis Johnson singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run, Hoke doubled on a 1-1 count, scoring one run, and James Martin singled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run.

TY Jones earned the victory on the mound for the Pioneers.  He went five innings, allowing six runs on six hits and striking out six. Chase Feller threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen.

The Pioneers racked up 14 hits on the day. Hoke, Nate Bloxham, and Keith Manby each managed multiple hits on the day, with Hoke going 4-for-5 at the plate to lead the Pioneers in hits.

The Pioneers will face Williston College on Wednesday at 3:00 pm, weather permitting.
