PIONEERS GET TWO AGAINST MYSTICS

Game 1

(Miles City, MT) James Martin wasted no opportunities at the plate in the first half of Saturday's doubleheader against the Mystics of Bismarck State College. Martin drove in four on a single in the first and a home run in the second to lead the Pioneers past Bismarck State College, 12-2.  MCC secured the victory thanks to eight runs in the first inning.  TY Jones, Carson Hoke, and Martin all contributed to the big inning, driving in runs.

Luke Turner earned the victory on the mound for the Pioneers. He lasted five innings, allowing two hits and two runs while striking out four.

The Pioneers tallied two home runs on the day. Martin went deep in the second inning. Jones had a four bagger in the first inning.

MCC totaled nine hits in the game.  Martin and Will Riley each collected two hits to lead the team. 

Game 2

Keith Manby was brilliant on the pitcher's mound in Saturday's game 2, as he threw a no-hitter to lead the Pioneers past Bismarck State College, 1-0.  The pitching was strong on both sides. Manby struck out ten, while Bismarck State College pitchers sat down eight.

Manby earned the victory on the hill for the Pioneers.  He went seven innings, allowing zero runs on zero hits and striking out ten.

Will RileyNate Bloxham, and Carson Hoke each collected one hit to lead the Pioneers.  MCC was sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. Bloxham made the most plays with 11.

The Pioneers will travel to Bismarck to face the Mystics on their home turf tomorrow starting at 12:00 pm MST.
