PIONEERS DROP TWO IN BISMARCK

Game 1

(Bismarck, ND)  The Pioneers had trouble keeping up with Bismarck State College in a 9-1 loss on Sunday.  Anthony Bleggi was on the pitcher's mound for the Pioneers.  He surrendered seven runs on five hits over two and two-thirds innings, striking out one. Chris Rofe threw three and a third innings out of the bullpen.

MCC socked one home run on the day when Nate Bloxham had a homer in the sixth inning.

Bloxham went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead the Pioneers in hits.

Game 2

A walk-off left the Pioneers on the wrong end of an 11-8 defeat in the second half of the doubleheader. The game was tied at eight with Bismarck State College batting in the bottom of the eighth when they homered on a 3-1 count, scoring three runs.  The Pioneers collected six hits and Bismarck State College had 11 in the high-scoring affair.  MCC notched four runs in the fourth inning.  James MartinWill RileyNate Bloxham, and TY Jones all moved runners across the plate with RBIs in the inning.

Chase Feller started the game for MCC.  He allowed four hits and six runs over two innings.  Jared Bellows and Jones entered the game from the bullpen, throwing three innings and two and a third innings respectively.

The Pioneers launched one home run on the day when Bloxham had a homer in the third inning.

MCC totaled six hits in the game.  Riley and Bloxham each collected two hits to lead the team.

The Pioneers will be in action again on Tuesday, Aprill 16 at Dawson Community College for a non-conference matchup at 3:00 pm.
