Game 1

(Williston, ND) Despite allowing three runs in the sixth inning, the Pioneers hung on to defeat Williston State College, 11-5 on Friday. MCC got on the board in the first inning when Will Riley singled on a 1-1 count, scoring one run.  

Luke Turner took the win for the Pioneers.  He went seven innings, allowing five runs on nine hits, striking out ten and walking zero.

MCC launched one home run on the day. Lewis Johnson put one out in the third inning.

The Pioneers collected 15 hits.  Riley, Johnson, TY Jones, James MartinNate Bloxham, and Jared Bellows each collected multiple hits on the day.  Johnson and Riley each collected three hits to lead the team.

 

Game 2

The Pioneers jumped out to an early lead over Williston State College and took home a 7-6 victory in the second half of the doublehearder against Williston State.  MCC scored on a walk by Chase Feller, a walk by Cade Stuff, a walk by Carson Hoke, and a single by Nate Bloxham in the second inning.  Both pitching staffs had their hands full, frequently dealing with runners on base. The Pioneers collected three hits and Williston State had seven.  The Pioneers pulled away for good with five runs in the second inning. In the second Feller drew a walk, scoring one run, Stuff drew a walk, scoring one run, Hoke drew a walk, scoring one run, and Bloxham singled on a 2-2 count, scoring one run.

Keith Manby took the win for the Pioneers.  He surrendered six runs on seven hits over seven innings, striking out eight.

MCC tallied one home run on the day when TY Jones had a dinger in the fifth inning.

Bloxham, Lewis Johnson, and Jones all had one hit to lead the team.
