PIONEERS CLAIM SIXTH INNING LEAD TO DEFEAT BLUE KNIGHTS

(Bismarck, ND) The Pioneers snagged a late lead and defeated the Blue Knights, 11-3 on Friday. The game was tied at three with MCC  batting in the bottom of the sixth when Will Riley doubled on a 0-2 count, scoring one run.  Nate Bloxham led the Pioneers to victory by driving in four runs. He went 3-for-3 at the plate. Bloxham drove in runs on a single in the third and a home run in the sixth.

Luke Turner was the winning pitcher for the Pioneers. He surrendered three runs on five hits over seven innings, striking out seven.

MCC launched one home run on the day. Bloxham went for the long ball in the sixth inning.

The Pioneers tallied nine hits in the game. Bloxham, TY Jones, and Riley all managed multiple hits.  Bloxham led the team with three hits in three at bats. MCC didn't commit a single error in the field. Bloxham had the most chances in the field with eight.

The Pioneers will face off with Bismarck State College on Saturday, May 11 at 1:00 pm in Bismarck, ND.
