PIONEERS DEFEAT MYSTICS AND MOVE ON

(Bismarck, ND) The Pioneers nabbed the lead late in the game in a 12-4 victory over Bismarck State College on Saturday. MCC earned the victory despite allowing Bismarck State to score three runs in the second inning on a home run.  In the top of the sixth inning, the Pioneers tied things up at four when Chase Feller homered on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring two runs.  The game was tied at four with the Pioneers batting in the top of the seventh when Lewis Johnson singled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run. 

Keith Manby took the win for the Pioneers. He allowed six hits and four runs over eight innings, striking out six.

MCC launched four home runs on the day. Nate Bloxham had a four bagger in the eighth inning. Jordon Thomson put one out in the seventh inning. Johnson went for the long ball in the fourth inning. Feller had a homer in the sixth inning.

The Pioneers saw the ball well today, racking up 14 hits in the game.  Jared BellowsWill Riley, Johnson, Thomson, Bloxham, and Feller all collected multiple hits.  Bellows led the team with three hits in five at bats.

The Pioneers will play in the Championship game tomorrow at 12:00 pm against Dakota Tech.
