(Bismarck, ND) The Pioneers fought back after falling down by five runs in the fourth inning. The comeback fell just short though, in a 6-4 defeat to Blue Knights on Sunday.  MCC put up four runs in the failed comeback. Lewis Johnson and  Will Riley each picked up RBIs.  Early in the game, the Pioneers couldn't keep up with Blue Knights as the Blue Knights took the lead on a home run in the second inning.  In the second inning, the Blue Knights got their offense started with a solo homer.

Chris Rofe was on the pitcher's mound for the Pioneers. He went six innings, allowing five runs on eight hits and striking out one.  Anthony Bleggi and Luke Turner entered the game as relief, throwing two and a third innings and two-thirds of an inning respectively.

The Pioneers had seven hits in the game.  Johnson and Jakob Bierig each managed multiple hits, with two each to lead the team.  MCC didn't commit a single error in the field. Jared Bellows had the most chances in the field with 11.

The Pioneers and Blue Knights will play a second game on Sunday at 2:00pm to determine the Region XIII Champion.
