PIONEER BASEBALL SEASON COMES TO AN END

Game 1

(Miles City, MT) The Pioneers struggled to get their offense going on Sunday, getting easily dispatched by Northeast Nebraska, 11-4.  MCC took an early lead in the first inning when  TY Jones hit a solo homer.  In the bottom of the third inning, the Pioneers tied things up at four.  Lewis Johnson singled on a 3-2 count, scoring one run.  Northeast Nebraska took the lead for good with one run in the fourth inning. Northeast Nebraska scored four runs in the sixth inning. 

Luke Turner was on the pitcher's mound for the Pioneers. He went seven and a third innings, allowing 11 runs on ten hits and striking out six.  Jack Stead threw one and two-thirds innings out of the bullpen.

MCC hit two home runs on the day. Nate Bloxham had a four bagger in the first inning. Jones had a dinger in the first inning.

Bloxham, Johnson, Jones, and Will Riley each collected one hit to lead the team.

 

Game 2

The Pioneers fell behind early and couldn't come back in an 8-4 loss to Northeast Nebraska in game 2. Keith Manby was on the pitcher's mound for MCC.  He lasted seven innings, allowing ten hits and eight runs while striking out nine.  Anthony Bleggi threw one inning in relief.

The Pioneers tallied nine hits.  Will Riley, Jordon Thomson, James Martin, and Chase Feller all collected two hits to lead the team. 

With the loss, the Pioneers season comes to and end.  They end the season with a record of 42-14-1.
