Game 1 - Pioneers 17... Dakota College at Bottineau 6 (5 Innings)
MCC baseball started strong and kept the momentum for the entire day taking care of the Lumberjacks easily in game 1. The Pioneers plated 4 runs in the 1st inning when SS Jaeden Jordahl (Billings, MT) reached base on an error and LF Grant Gabbert walked. C Takumi Kimoto (Brisbane, Australia) hit his 5th home run of the season for a quick 3-0 lead. With one out, 1B Spencer Searcey (Denver, CO) singled, stole 2nd, and scored on a single by CF Kruz Slevira (Billings, MT).
The DCB Jacks put up one run in the bottom of the 1st and the Pioneers quickly answered with 8 more runs in the 2nd. 2B Jessen West (Billings, MT) walked and Jordahl was hit by a pitch. Both stole the next base and scored on a single by Gabbert. Kimoto drew a walk and was replaced by courtesy runner Dalton Martin (Gillette, MT) who stole 2nd as Gabbert stole 3rd. Spencer Searcey grounded out but Gabbert scored and Martin moved to 3rd. RF Wyatt Searcey (Denver, CO) reached on an error and Martin scored for a 8-1 lead. Slevira followed that up with a single and 3B Lane Neill (Belgrade, MT) was hit by a pitch to load the bases. West singled to drive in 2 more runs and then Neill and West scored on a wild pitch for a 12-1 lead.
The Pioneers picked up 3 more runs in the 3rd inning to extend the lead to 15-1. With one out, Kimoto reached on an error and was replaced on base path by Martin. O'Connell hit in to a fielders choice and Spencer Searcey hit an infield single. Wyatt Searcey singled to left field and an error in the oufield allowed O'Connell, S. Searcey, and W. Searcey to score. The Lumberjacks picked up 2 runs in the bottom of the 3rd to make the score 15-3.
After a scoreless 4th inning, the Pioneers got 2 in the 5th when DH pinch hitter Tyler Tenney (Helena, MT) walked and was driven home by 1B pinch hitter Kam Kostial (Rexburg, ID) with a triple to right field. Wyatt Searcey was hit by a pitch and then Kostial scored when CF pinch hitter Brady Jones grounded to a fielder's choice.
Caeden Riley (Torrington, WY) pitched 4.1 innings (4 H, 6 R, 4 BB, 7 SO) and Mason Peters (Columbia Falls, MT) finished the final 2 outs of the game, walking one batter.

The MCC Pioneers got off to another good start scoring a run in the bottom of the 1st when Jaeden Jordahl reached on an error, advanced to 2nd on a fielder's choice, stole 3rd, and scored on a Kimoto sacrifice fly. They added 3 more runs in the 2nd inning after a Spencer Searcey single who quickly stole 2nd and 3rd. Searcey scored on a Kruz Slevira double and Slevira scored on a Kostial RBI single. Jessen West grounded in to a fielder's choice and then stole 2nd and 3rd before scoring on a Jordahl sacrifice fly.
The Pioneers picked up 2 more runs in the 3rd inning as Kimoto singled and his courtesy runner Martin quickly stole 2nd and 3rd. Wyatt Searcey drove in Martin with a single and quickly stole 2nd and 3rd before having Spencer Searcey drive him home. Slevira walked and Kostial kept his bat hot with an RBI triple.
MCC got another run in the 4th inning as Jordahl led off with a walk and stole 2nd. He advanced to 3rd on a fly out to center field by Gabbert and scored on a ground ball out by Kimoto.
The Pioneers ended the game in the 6th inning after Kostial singled, stole 2nd but was out at 3rd on a fielder's choice hit by West. West moved to 2nd on the play and scored on an RBI double from Jaeden Jordahl. Grant Gabbert then doubled to right field to score Jordahl and the Pioneers won on the 10-run rule.
Jack Corriveau (Kalispell, MT) went the distance for the Pioneers going all 6 innings giving up only 2 hits, walking 5, and striking out 8.

- DCB committed the only error of the game.
