Game 1 - Pioneers 10... Prairie Baseball Academy 0 (5 Innings)

Four Pioneer pitchers combined on a one-hitter and the Pioneers scored 10 runs on 10 hits in a 10-0 shutout of Prairie Baseball Academy in game 1 of a doubleheader Saturday afternoon in Miles City. 

The Pioneers got on the board in the bottom of the 2nd inning when Taichi Fuchinaga (2B - Honolulu, HI) led the inning off with a single but was caught stealing at 2nd base. With 2 outs, Chandler Smith (C - Miles City, MT) walked and was replaced by courtesy runner Lucas Smith (Post Falls, ID) and he stole 2nd. Brady Bickett (CF - Rapid City, SD) tripled to drive in Smith. Jace Notbohm (DH - Miles City, MT) singled to drive in Bickett. Gamechanger goof its plays from there so hard to explain how the Pioneers ended up with 3 runs. 

MCC got 3 more in the bottom of the 3rd after Lance Bratlien (LF - Helena, MT) reached on an error and Fuchinaga followed that with a double putting runners on 2nd and 3rd. Coleman Parry (1B - American Fork, UT) quickly singled to drive in 2 runs. He moved to 2nd on an error and was pushed to 3rd on a bunt from Lucas Smith. Chandler Smith then grounded out to 3rd but Parry scored on the play and the Pioneers led 6-0. 

The Pioneers finished things off with a 4-run 7th innings. Fuchinaga, Parry, and Lucas Smith all walked to load the bases which triggered an RBI walk by Chandler Smith. Bickett then singed to drive in 2 more runs and Notbohm was hit by a pitch to load the bases again. Kade Mosley (3B - Miles City, MT) hit a hard single to end the contest. 

Max Holden (Kalispell, MT) got the start and struck out the side in the 1st inning. Jacob Walker (Brisbane, Australia) struck out 2 and walked one in his inning of work. Sam Hall (Eureka, MT) pitched 2 perfect innings with a strikout  and Spencer Searcey closed out the game giving up one hit and striking out one. 

Mosley had 3 hits, Bickett and Fuchinaga had 2. Bickett led MCC with 4 RBI.

Game 2... Pioneers 12... Prairie Baseball Academy 4

MCC got going on the right foot wth 5 runs in the bottom of the 1st inning. Brady Bickett singled, stole 2nd, and moved to 3rd on a throwing error while Jace Notbohm walked. Kade Mosley grounded in to a fielders choice as Bickett scored. Jessen West (SS - Billings, MT) reached on a bunt error and Coleman Parry delivered a 3-run home run to the left field bleachers. Fuchinaga and Luke Wilson (DH - Calgary, Alberta) both doubled to make the score 5-0. 

The Pioneers got 2 more runs in the bottom of the 2nd as Mosley walked, West singled, and Parry walked to load the bases. Fuchinaga grounded to a fielder's choice and Mosely scored. Luke Wilson doubled to drive in West for a 7-0 Pioneer lead. 

Both teams were held scoreless over the next 2 innings and PBA got on the board for the first time today with 2 runs in the top of the 5th. MCC answered with 3 runs in the bottom of the 5th inning as Notbohm doubled and Mosely walked. A double steal sent Notbohm to 3rd and Mosley to 2nd. Parry hit a 2 RBI single and Spencer Searcey (Denver, CO) came in to run for Parry and quickly stole 2nd and 3rd. Fuchinaga hit a sacrifice fly to score Searcy and the Pioneers led 10-2. 

PBA added 2 more runs in the top of the 6th to cut the lead to 10-4. Bryan Roselles (C- Rapid City, SD) started the inning with a walk. Courtesy runner Casey Morgan (Salt Lake City, UT) advanced to 2nd and was caught stealing 3rd. Notbohm drew a walk and Mosley hit a home run to give the Pioneers a 12-0 lead. 

Trae Awbery (Miles City, MT) got the start and pitched a perfect inning with 2 strikeouts. Tyler Cutler (Helena, MT) pitched the next inning with 2 walks and 2 strikeouts. Lance Bratlien got the 3rd inning and gave up 2 hits with one strikeout. Brady Bickett pitched the 4th inning and struck out the side. Notbohm had the 5th inning and gave up 2 runs on 2 hits with 2 strikeouts. Brandon Hegedus (Littleton, CO) went 0.1 innings with 2 walks and 2 runs. Mayson Shively (Three Forks, MT) pitched the final 1.2 innings in perfect fashion with a strikeout.
