
Game 1 - Pioneers 9... Carthage College JV 5
Miles Community College got 3 hits from Lance Bratlien and Coleman Parry while Casey Morgan (DH - Salt Lake City, UT) drove in 4 runs as the Pioneers continued their hot streak in Tucson, AZ with their 10th straight win in a 9-5 decision over Carthage College JV on Monday morning.
The Pioneers got on the board in the top of the 2nd inning with 2 runs. Chandler Smith (C - Miles City, MT) walked and was replaced by courtesy runner Brock Lopez (Commerce City, CO). With 2 outs, Lopez stole 2nd and scored on a RBI single from Tanner Goertz (LF - Highlands Ranch, CO). Lance Bratlien (RF - Helena, MT) followed that with a single and the Pioneers had runners on the corners. Coleman Parry (1B - American Fork, UT) singled to drive in the final run of the inning.
4 more Pioneers crossed home plate in the 3rd inning. Brady Bickett (CF - Rapid City, SD) got on base with a 1 out infield single and moved to 3rd on a double from Smith. Bickett scored on a Carthage error on the next Pioneer plate appearance. Smith's courtesy runner Lopez scored on an error and with 2 outs Parry walked to load the bases. Morgan then singled to drive in 2 of his 4 RBI and MCC led 6-0.
Carthage cut the lead to 6-4 with 2 runs in the 3rd inning and 2 more in the 4th. MCC regained control wiht 3 runs in the 5th inning to put the game out of reach. Ethan Forrest (2B - Saskatoon, Saskatchewan) singled to start the 5th inning and Goertz walked. Bratlien continued his hot hitting with a RBI single that scored Forrest and moved Goertz to 2nd. Goertz and Bratlien stole 2nd and 3rd and were driven in by Morgan for his final 2 RBI in the game and the final runs for MCC.
Chase Goode (Castle Rock, CO) started the game and pitched 2 innings (H). Keenan Kraft (Belgrade, MT) pitched the next inning (5 H, 4 R, 2 ER, SO) and gave way to Brandon Hegedus (Littleton, CO) for the next 2 innings (H, 3 BB, 2 SO). Lance Bratlien got the final 2 innings (H, R, BB, 4 SO).

Game 2 - Pioneers 8 ... Crown College JV 7
Brock Lopez (RF - Commerce City, CO) belted a 2 RBI double in the bottom of the 7th inning as the Pioneers won their final game in dramatic walkoff fashion to defeat Crown College JV 8-7 to extend their winning streak to 11 games on Monday afternoon in Tucson. This back and forth game saw 1 tie and 3 lead changes over the final 3 innings.
Crown got off to the quick start by scoring 2 runs in the 1st and 3 more in the 2nd inning to build a 5-0 lead. The Pioneers battled back to tie the game 5-5 with 3 runs in the 3rd inning and 2 more in the 5th. Ostyn Brennan (SS - Kalispell, MT) kicked the 3rd inning off with a single and the hot bat of Tanner Goertz continued with a double to drive in Brennan. Lance Bratlien and hit hot bat then drive in Goertz with a RBI single. Bratlien advanced to 2nd on a groundout and then to 3rd on a single from Brandon Hegedus and scored on a sacrifice fly from Casey Morgan. The Pioneers tied it in the bottom of the 5th after a single from Bratlien and a one out steal of 2nd, Hegedus singled to put runners on the corners. Casey Morgan grounded out but Bratlien scored and courtesy runner Lopez moved to 3rd. Ethan Forrest (3B - Saskatoon, Saskatchewan) singled to drive in Lopez.
The Pioneers took the lead in the bottom of the 6th inning as the Pioneers scored on a fielding error by Crown College. Crown College took the lead in the top of the 7th by scoring 2 runs to make the score 7-6.
The bottom of the 7th got started on a single by Forrest and a walk from Luke Thorne (Missoula, MT). Bickett then had another bunt single to load up the bases before the Lopez heroics won the game for the Pioneers.
Lee Neugebauer (Rapid City, SD) got the start for MCC and pitched 1.2 innings (4 H, 5 R, 3 BB, 4 SO) and gave the ball to Eli Kelley (Rapid City, SD) for the next 3.1 innings (3 H, 5 SO). Ostyn Brennan took the 6th inning (SO) and Bickett pitched the 7th inning (H, 2 R, 2 SO)
