
Game 1 - Pioneers 6... Williston State 1
Pioneer pitcher Mayson Shively pitched a complete game 3-hitter and MCC scored 3 runs in the 1st inning and 3 more in the 4th to earn a 6-1 win in game 1 on Saturday in Miles City, MT. Shively gave up a run in the top of the 1st inning and then shut down the Teton bats for the remainder of the contest to pick up the win. Shively struck out 5, walked 2 (both in the 1st inning), and hit one batter and threw just 94 pitches.
The Pioneers answered the Teton 1st inning run with 3 of their own in the bottom of the 1st. Tanner Goertz (LF - Highlands Ranch, CO) reached base on an error and Lance Bratlien (RF - Helena, MT) singled to put runners on the corners. Goertz scored when Coleman Parry (1B - American Fork, UT) grounded in to a double play. Luke Wilson (DH - Calgary, Alberta) tripled and Bohen Bahnmiller (3B - Helena, MT) hit a RBI double. Luke Thorne (SS - Missoula, MT) singled to drive in Bahnmiller.
The scored remained 3-1 until the bottom of the 4th inning when Goertz picked up a 2 RBI double and Bratlien followed that with a RBI single.
Bratlien and Morlang each had 3 hits for the Pioneers.

The Pioneers hit two separate 2-run home runs in the 1st inning to build a 4-0 but couldn't get much offense after that as the Tetons rallied to take a 7-5 win and take 3 out of 4 from the Pioneers in the 4-game weekend series.
Tanner Goertz walked and Lance Bratlien banged a home run over the rightfield wall to put the Pioneers up 4-0. After 2 outs, Bohden Bahnmiller walked and Luke Wilson smashed another home run over the rightfield wall.
Williston State then plated 4 runs in the 2nd inning aided by a misplay in short centerfield by the Pioneers with 2 outs that gave the Tetons life. Williston State then took advantage of a hit batsman, 2 walks, and back to back singles for their 4 runs.
The Tetons took the lead in the top of the 5th by scoring 2 runs and MCC plated a run in the bottom of the 5th to cut the lead to 6-5. The Pioneer run came on a RBI double from Cooper Morlang.
Williston got an insurance run in the top of the 7th inning and the Pioneers were unable to mount a charge in the bottom of the 7th.
Davis Mosier (Billings, MT) got the start for the Pioneers and pitched 4 innings (4 R, 7 H, 2 BB, 3 SO) and Chase Goode pitched the final 3 innings (3 R, ER, 2 H, BB, 2 SO).
