Five Pioneers scored in double figures, as the MCC men's basketball team defeated the Rustlers of Central Wyoming, 81-76, on Saturday afternoon. It was all Pioneers in the first half, as they got out early and kept the momentum going to take a 43-24 lead into the half.  The Rustlers mounted a comeback in the second half and were able to outscore the Pioneers 52-38.  The effort fell short, however, and the Pioneers held off the late run to get their second victory of the weekend. 

Akeemis Williams and Gedeon Buzangu led the Pioneers in scoring with 15 apiece, followed closely by DA Wyche with 14, Issac Abergut with 12, and Deondre Northey with 10.  Buzangu completed his second double-double of the weekend with 10 rebounds to lead the team.  Wyche led the team in assists with nine.

The Pioneers will travel to Bismarck State to face the Mystics on Thursday, January 10 at 6:30pm.
