PIONEERS DROP TO TETONS, 78-82

(Miles City, MT) The Pioneers fell to the Tetons on Monday evening in the Kailey Gymnasium in a game that went down to the wire.  The Tetons got off to a great start and controlled most of the first half, taking a 45-33 lead into the locker room at the break.  The Pioneers widdled away at the Teton's lead and pulled it back late in the second half.  The Tetons were able to capitalize on their defense, forcing 19 turnovers and scoring 25 points off of those turnovers, compared to the Pioneers 11 points off of turnovers. The game was back and forth towards the end and came right down to the last few baskets.  The Pioneers tied it up with 1:49 to go in the game and were able to briefly pull out in front.  However, the Tetons got a few more shots to fall in the end and the Pioneers fell, 78-82.  The Pioneers move to 12-16 on the season and 4-8 in conference play.

 Gedeon Buzangu had a double-double, leading the team in scoring with 20 points and rebounds with 15.  Deondre Northey added 16 points,  Issac Abergut had 13, and DA Wyche had 11 on the night.  AK Kuany pulled down 11 boards on the night.  Wyche led the team in assists with five.

The Pioneers will face the Dawson Bucs in a rivalry game on Thursday evening at 7:30 pm in the Kailey Gymnasium.  Thursday night will be Military Appreciation Night at MCC.  All military personnel will get in free as a way for MCC to say thank you!
