Gillette Slips by Pioneers to Open 2020

Gedeon Buzangu (6'8 Sophomore, Congo) had 22 points and 11 rebounds while Issac Abergut (6'6 Sophomore, Melbourne) added 17 points and 12 rebounds but the Gillette Pronghorn defense held the Pioneers without a field goal over the final seven minutes of the game and pulled away with a 74-61 win in Miles City. MCC led 60-59 with 7:15 remaining but went 0-13 from the field and connected on only one free throw for the rest of the game. 

Gillette had a balanced scoring attack led by Bradley Akhile (6'7 Sophomore, Houston) with 16 points and 10 rebounds. Mason Archambault (6'1 Sophomore, Rapid City) also had 16 points while Issac Mushila (6'4 Freshman, Ashtabula, OH) had 13 points, 12 rebounds and Tarig Eisa (6'6 Sophomore, Toronto) added 12 points, 8 rebounds. The Pronghorns outrebounded MCC 62-44 on the night as MCC shot only 27% and a 4-29 effort from the three point line. Gillette shot 39% and hit on 9-27 three point attempts. 

Gillette moved to 15-1 on the season and open conference play at Western Wyoming next week. The Pioneers fell to 8-6 and travel to Riverton, WY to face Central Wyoming in final non-conference game of the season.
