Pioneer Dominate United Tribes For Big Home Win

Favour Chukwukelu (6'2 Freshman) poured in 29 points (11-14 FG, 6-8 3's) grabbed 6 rebounds and dished out 5 assists to lead the MCC Pioneers to a 104-87 win over United Tribes in Miles City. The Pioneers (6-2, 14-9) led from start to finish and by as many as 30 points in the second half. MCC had 32 assists on 35 field goals on the night as they shot 17-34 from the 3-point line and 57% from the field for the game. The Pioneers outrebounded the Thunderbirds 51-32 on the game. The negative part of the evening for MCC was the fact that they had 15 2nd half turnovers. 

Also in double figures for MCC was big man Gedeon Buzangu (6'8 Sophomore) as he had 18 points (6-12 FG, 6-8 FT) and 16 rebounds. Issac Abergut (6'6 Sophomore) had 18 points and 9 rebounds. Point guard Deondre Northey (6'1 Sophomore) had 9 rebounds and 8 assists. Akeemis Williams (5'9 Sophomore) added 12 points while Jayvon Lewis (5'10 Freshman) added 7 assists. 

United Tribes (4-4, 12-10) was led by Nick Jiles (5'10 Freshman) with 22 points. Cecelio Montgomery (5'9 Freshman) added 17 points while Lane Johnson (6'2 Freshman) hit four 3-point field goals and added 13. 

The Pioneers return home Wednesday night as they host Lake Region State College at 7:30 PM MST.
