The MCC Pioneer Men's Basketball team ended the home portion of its 2019-20 season with a resounding 105-64 win over Dakota College-Bottineau. The Pioneers (16-10, 8-3) had all 11 players score and have at least one assist on a night when the Pioneers had 29 assists and outrebounded the Lumberjacks 42-26.
Favour Chukwukelu (6'2 Freshman) pumped in 22 points (7-9 FG, 6-7 3's) and Gedeon Buzangu (6'8 Sophomore) added 19 points and 6 rebounds (6-9 FG, 7-11 FT) on the night. Deondre Northey (6'0 Sophomore Guard) had another excellent night with 14 points, 7 rebounds, and 6 assists while Issac Abergut (6'6 Sophomore) added 14 points, 5 rebounds, and 4 assists. Jayvon Lewis (5'11 Sophomore) dished out 7 assists. The Pioneers shot 60% for the game (37-62 FG, 12-26 3's) compared to 41% (24-58 FG, 8-25 3's) for Bottineau. Bottineau fell to (5-21, 0-11) on the season.
The Pioneers final 3 regular season games are all on the road next week starting with a matchup against Williston State in Williston, ND on Monday night.
