Big Second Half Leads to Dawson Win Over MCC

Miles CC bolted out to a 25-10 1st half lead but Dawson cut that lead to 38-34 by halftime before a back and forth 2nd half saw league leading Dawson come out of Glendive with a 93-84 win over the Pioneers. MCC had some costly 2nd half turnovers and Dawson hit some big 3-pointers and FT's down the stretch to secure the victory. 

Gedeon Buzangu (6'8 Sophomore) had a big night for the Pioneers hitting for 21 points (7-13 FG, 7-7 FT) and pulling down 19 rebounds. Deondre Northey (6'1 Sophomore) had 18 points (5-13 FG, 4-9 3's) and 4 assists while backcourt mate Favour Chukwukelu added 15 points (5-13 FG, 3-7 3's)and 5 rebounds. Other Pioneers in double figures were Sophomore Issac Abergut (12 points and 10 rebounds) and Akeemis Williams with 11 points. The Pioneers outrebounded the Bucs 47-45 but couldn't overcome 20 turnovers and shooting only 40% from the field. 

Dawson was led by Beau Santisteven (6'7 Sophomore) with 21 points, 5 rebounds and Devin Collins (6'6 Sophomore) with 18 points and 11 rebounds. Man Man Baker (5'10 Guard) had 12 points and 9 assists while Camron Dunfee, Kolten Hitt, and CJ Nelson all had 10 points. 

The game didn't mean change anything in the league standings as Dawson had clinched the regular season conference title (24-6, 13-0) and the Pioneers were locked into 3rd place at (17-11, 9-4). MCC will finish regular season play Sunday afternoon in Bismarck vs. United Tribes.
