Pioneers 65... Williston State 67
The MCC Pioneers blew a 10-point 2nd half lead as Moses Gordon (6'5 Freshman) hit 2 free throws with 3.5 seconds remaining and the Pioneers Blessing Adesipe's 3-point field goal attempt at the buzzer rimmed out as teh Tetons took a 67-65 win Thursday night in Williston, ND.
MCC led 64-60 with :45 remaining in the game when Gordon hit his only 3-pointer of the game to cut the lead to 1. MCC's Ethan Venema (6'7 Freshman) then hit 1-2 from the free throw line for a 2-point lead. Abi Adedo (6'6 Sophomore) then tied the game with a basket in the lane with 11 seconds remaining. The Pioneers Ben Datro (6'1 Sophomore) then missed and Gordon was fouled on the rebound.
4 Tetons reached double figures led by Adedo with 18 points (8-16 FG, 1-4 3's, 1-2 FT) and 11 rebounds. Gordon finished with 14 points (5-15 FG, 1-3 3's, 3-6 FT) and a game high 14 rebounds. Shaheed Muhammad (5'11 Sophomore) added 14 points (5-19 FG, 3-10 3's, 1-1 FT) and 5 assists, whild Grady Gonsioroski (6'2 Freshman) added 10 (4-9 FG, 2-6 3's).
The Pioneers got 23 points (11-16 FG, 1-2 FT) and 9 rebounds from Venema and 18 points (8-21 FG, 1-4 3's, 1-3 FT), 11 rebounds, 7 assists from Adesipe (6'6 Sophomore). Payton Kokot (6'3 Freshman) helped out with 10 points (4-7 FG, 2-4 3's). Denzel Kabasele (6'3 Sophomore) totaled 8 points and 10 rebounds.
