Adesipe's Big Night Leads to Pioneer Win

Pioneers 72... Dakota College at Bottineau 65

Blessing Adesipe (6'6 Sophomore) poured in 39 points (11-24 FG, 3-9 3's, 14-16 FT) and grabbed 9 rebounds to lead the MCC Pioneers to a 72-65 MonDak Conference victory over the Dakota College Lumberjacks on Sunday afternoon in Miles City. The Pioneers, who had lost 3 of their last 4 games by 2 points each, controlled the 2nd half to come away with the win. 

Denzel Kabasele (6'3 Sophomore) added 13 points (5-12 FG, 1-4 3's, 2-4 FT) and dished out 6 assists as the Pioneers moved to 4-13 in MonDak Conference play and 5-21 overall. MCC got a solid effort from Ethan Venema (6'7 Freshman) with 7 points, 8 rebounds, and 6 blocks. David Gorianskii (7'0 Freshman) came off the bench to score 8 points and grab 8 rebounds. 

The Lumberjacks were led in scoring by Max Groom (6'2 Freshman). Groom came off the bench to score 15 points (3-10 FG, 1-4 3's, 8-9 FT) and was joined by Loukas Triantis (6'1 Sophomore) with 13 points (4-14 FG, 2-6 3's, 3-4 FG). Jacob Smith (6'6 Freshman) added 12 points (3-8 FG, 1-1 3's, 5-6 FT). Connor Trahan (6'4 Freshman) led the Lumberjacks in rebounds with 8.

  • The Lumberjacks biggest lead was 6 points with 13:25 to go in 1st half. MCC led by 11 with 13:30 to play in the game.

  • Blessing Adesipe passed the 1,000 point mark for his career at MCC. He has also reeled in over 450 rebounds. 

DCB fell to 11-6 in MonDak Conference play and 18-8 overall. The Pioneers moved to 4-13 in conference play and 5-21 overall. MCC will host Williston State on Monday night at 7:30 PM in the MCC Centra.
