Pioneers 61... Dawson 78

Dawson Community College connected on 9-17 1st half 3-point field goals enroute to a regular season finale 78-61 win over the Pioneers on Sunday night in Glendive. 

Aiden Fischell (5'10 Sophomore) scored 12 points (5-5 FG, 2-2 3's) and had 5 rebounds while Chris Davidson (6'4 Freshman) contributed 10 points (3-12 FG, 3-8 3's, 1-2 FT) and 7 rebounds as 10 DCC players hit the scoring column in the game that the Pioneers had only 6 players in uniform. 

The Pioneers put 4 players in double figures led by Payton Kokot (6'3 Freshman) with 20 points (7-15 FG, 2-7 3's, 4-8 FT), 4 rebounds, and 5 steals. David Gorianskii (7'0 Freshman) came off the bench to score 12 points (4-6 FG, 4-6 FT), grab 8 rebounds, and block 3 shots. Blessing Adesipe (6'6 Sophomore) had 11 points (5-17 FG, 1-8 3's) and 8 rebounds while Ethan Venema (6'7 Freshman) had 10 points (5-13 FG) and a team high 9 rebounds.

• Neither team shot the ball well as MCC was 24-69 (35%) from the field and 5-20 from 3-point range. MCC didn't help themselves out at the free throw line with an 8-18 effort. 
• DCC was 28-74 (38%) from the field and 12-34 (35%) from 3-point range. DCC was 10-16 at free throw line.
• The Pioneers had 15 turnovers and the Buccaneers had 12. 
• DCC outrebounded the Pioneers 43-38 including 13 offensive boards. MCC had 11 offensive rebounds. 
• MCC outscored DCC 26-24 in 2nd half as the teams combined to shoot only 3-24 from 3-point range in that half and only 30% combined field goal percentage. 

The Pioneers complete the regular season with a 7-14 MonDak Conference record and 8-22 overall. MCC will be the #4 seed in the Region XIII playoffs and host #5 Williston State on Wednesday night at 7:00 PM. Dawson finishes 17-4 in MonDak play and 23-7 overall. They are the #2 seed in the playoffs and will get a bye to the semifinals on Satuday, March 4 in Wahpeton, ND.
