Pioneers 106... United Tribes 98
The MCC Pioneer men's basketball team picked up it's first road victory of the season with a 106-98 defeat of United Tribes Technical College on Wednesday night in Bismarck, ND.
Aguir Dawam (6'7 Sophomore) scored 28 points (13-19 FG, 0-1 3's, 2-4 FT), grabbed 13 rebounds, and blocked 4 shots to help propel the Pioneers over the T-Birds. Ethan Venema (6'7 Sophomore) helped out with 25 points (9-14 FG, 3-4 3's, 4-4 FT), 8 rebounds, and 2 blocked shots. Payton Kokot (6'3 Sophomore) had 13 points (4-7 FG, 3-4 3's, 2-2 FT). MCC got solid contribution off of the bench from Kris English (6'1 Freshman) with 14 points (5-7 FG, 4-4 FT) and another 10 points (5-12 FG, 0-1 3's, 0-3 FT), 8 rebounds from Daniel Piech Meat. Ethan Bell (6'0 Sophomore) dished out 10 assists to lead the Pioneers while only having 1 turnover.
United Tribes got 32 points (14-33 FG, 3-11 3's, 1-1 FT) from Cayden Redfield (6'5 Sophomore) who also had 6 rebounds. Houston Davis (6'4 Freshman) added 22 points (6-12 FG, 0-1 3's, 10-11 FT) and a team high 7 rebounds. Hudda Curry (6'7 Sophomore) added 16 points (7-15 FG, 1-4 3's, 1-2 FT) and 6 rebounds while Mark Fassett (6'0 Freshman) added 13 points (4-11 FG, 2-8 3's, 3-4 FT).

United Tribes fell to 3-3 in MonDak Conference play and 5-4 overall. Miles upped it's MonDak Conference record to 4-2 and it's overall record to 8-3. The Pioneers will host Lake Region State College on Sunday afternoon in the MCC Centra at 3:00 PM for the last MonDak Conference game of 2023. This will also be the last Pioneer home game until January 24.
