The Northwest College Trappers answered every Miles Community College rally on Tuesday night in Powell, WY. The Trappers used a balanced scoring attack and timely baskets to offset the Pioneers hitting 10 3's in the 2nd half and shooting 52% over the final 20 minutes. Northwest College shot a resounding 59% in the 2nd half and hit 7-8 at the free throw line to get the 88-76 win.
Colin Hays (6-6 Sophomore) scored 21 points (9-13 FG, 2-4 3's, 1-2 FT) and a trio of Trappers scored 11 points on the night. Kaden Christensen (6'4 Sophomore), Tesloch Thong (6-2 Sophomore), and Drew Larson (6'6 Sophomore) all scored 11 points. Preston Condie (6'5 Sophomore) led the Trappers with 7 rebounds and Thong had 9 assists.
Yohandry Ortiz (6'5 Freshman - Naples, FL) had 27 points (10-21 FG, 5-7 3's, 2-2 FT) and 6 rebounds while Donnie Haney (6'2 Freshman - Baton Rouge, LA) came off the bench to add 24 points (8-13 FG, 7-7 3's, 1-1 FT) and 6 rebounds. Azenio Cossa (6'2 Freshman) added 11 points (5-14 FG, 1-6 3's). Jace Hill (6'1 Freshman - Columbia Falls, MT) led MCC with 8 rebounds, 7 assists, and 2 steals.
