
Pioneers 85... Bismarck State 89
Bismarck State came to the MCC Centra for the final time as a MonDak Conference school and shot a sizzling 65% in the 2nd half to erase a 14 point 1st half deficit enroute to a 89-85 win on Monday night.
The Mystics scored 57 2nd half points after scoring only 32 in the first half. They hit 20-31 from the field and 7-12 from the 3-point line in that 2nd half after going just 1-6 from beyond the arc in the 1st half.
Carter Zeller (Freshman - Fargo, ND) led the way for the Mystics with 19 points (7-11 FG, 1-4 3's, 4-6 FT) and 8 rebounds while Jackson Birmingham (Sunshine Coast, Australia) filled in with 18 points (6-8 FG, 2-4 3's, 4-5 FT) as the Mystics moved to 3-7 in MonDak Conference play. Avery Wesley (Freshman - Pittsburg, PA) added 15 points (7-14 FG, 1-3 3's, 0-1 FT) 6 rebounds, and 4 assists and Evan Tatum (Freshman - Las Vegas, NV) had 15 points (5-10 FG, 2-2 3's, 3-4 FT) and 6 rebounds.
The Pioneers did not help themselves in the 2nd half by missing 10 free throws and shooting only 3-14 from the 3-point line. Yohandry Ortiz (Freshman - Naples, FL) had 16 points (5-16 FG, 1-6 3's, 5-6 FT) and 5 rebounds while Azenio Cossa (Maputo, Mozambique) also had 16 points (7-16 FG, 1-5 3's, 1-5 FT) and 5 rebounds.
Jace Hill (Freshman - Columbia Falls, MT) added 13 points (4-8 FG, 1-5 3's, 4-4 FT) and 6 assists and Koak Kok (Sophomore - Ulang, South Sudan) had 12 points (4-8 FG, 4-5 FT) and 6 rebounds.
