PIONEERS COMPETE IN GLENDIVE, MT

PIONEERS COMPETE IN GLENDIVE, MT

The Pioneer rodeo teams took the short trip down I-94 to compete in the Dawson Community College Rodeo over the weekend.  After a strong showing in week one, they were hopeful that their luck would continue in Glendive.

Faith Tarter placed fifth in goat tying, which brought the women's team up to finish in fourth overall.  There were a couple of close calls in the breakaway roping, but broken barriers ruined the chances of placing.

On the men's side, there were a lot of catches in the steer wrestling and team roping, but the tough handling cattle made it difficult to catch them with a good time.

"It didn't go as well as I would have hoped, but I am very encouraged by what I saw," commented head coach Wally Badgett.  "The talent is all there, we are just waiting for it to all go right."

The rodeo team is on the road again this weekend in Havre, MT on Friday, September 21 and Saturday, September 22.
