Two Rodeos in Bozeman Start Up Spring Season

Rodeo #1 - April 11-12

The MCC Pioneer men's rodeo team finished in 6th place and the women finished in 4th place at the 1st rodeo of spring season Thursday and Friday in Bozeman, MT. 

The men scored 140 points and the host Montana State University amassed 820 points to win the rodeo. 

Chris Boardman (Moorcroft, WY) found his way to a victory in Bull Riding for rodeo #1.

Ashton Frei (Killdeer, ND) got a 2nd place finish in Saddle Bronc Riding by scoring 57 points. 

Grady Larson (Header - Sidney, MT) and Caden Rhoads (Heeler - Bighorn, MT) teamed up to finish 6th place in Team Roping with a time of 8 seconds with one catch in 2 runs. 

The Pioneer women's team scored a total of 50 points as host Montana State put 330 points on the board. 

Tycie Phalen (Miles City, MT) found a 7th place finish in Barrel Racing with a time of 35.27 for her runs. 

Katie Anderson (Rockglen, Saskatchewan) secured a 9th place finish in Goat Tying with a total time of 24.4 seconds. 

 

Rodeo #2 - April 13-14

The MCC Pioneer men's rodeo team finished in 6th place once again and the women dropped to 5th place in the 2nd rodeo Saturday and Sunday in Bozeman, MT

The men scored 170 points and host Montana State hit for 780 to win again. 

Blayne Hubing (Circle, MT) nabbed a 3rd place finish in Tie Down Roping with a combined time of 22.6 seconds. 

The team of Grady Larson and Caden Rhoads once again finished in 6th place with a time of 8.6 seconds with their one catch in 2 runs. 

The Pioneer women's team scored a total of 45 points as Montana State took the title with 360 points. 

Tycie Phalen finished in 6th place in Breakaway Roping catching once at 2.5 seconds. Ryley Bice (Miles City, MT) finished in 8th place with a combined time of 15.7 seconds. 

 

MCC will host 2 rodeos this weekend at the Ag Advancement Center on West Campus in Miles City. Rodeo #1 will be Thursday/Friday and Rodeo #2 is Saturday/Sunday. Performances will be Thursday, Friday, and Saturday at 7:00 PM and Sunday morning at 10:00 AM. Slack is Friday and Saturday at 10:00 AM. 

General admission is $10, Children 8-12 is $5, college students (with ID) and children (7 & Under) are free.
