Hamilton Softball Standout Signs With Miles Softball

Hamilton softball star Abby Johnson has signed a National Letter of Intent to play softball at Miles CC for the 2020-21 school year. Johnson is a 5'4 utility player from Coach Dave Kearns successful Bronc program in the Bitterroot Valley of Western Montana. Johnson has played outfield, 2nd base, and catcher in her first 3 years as a starter for the Broncs. During her junior season, Johnson batted .423 and scored 29 runs while playing catcher and 2nd base. The Broncs finished 3rd in the Class A State Tournament. She has been an academic all state in basketball and softball and was 2nd team All-State in her junior year of basketball and softball.

Coach Juarez on Johnson: "We are excited to add Abby to our 2020-21 roster. Our staff believes she fits the culture we have developed at Miles and her competitive softball background lends to her making a direct impact when she arrives on campus. She is a quality person and student as well and can't wait for Abby to join Pioneer Softball."

Abby on why she chose Miles: "I have a close connection with current Pioneer Tessa Della Silva and she told me how great the softball program is and how supportive the entire school is to the athletes. On my visit I had an opportunity to see this in person. I was able to meet the President of the School and felt a connection with Coach Juarez and Coach Dick who had inspired me to take a close look at the opportunities at MCC."
