Softball Bats Hot as Pioneers Dominate Bismarck State Again

Game 1 - Pioneers 20... Bismarck State 2

The destruction of Bismarck State continued on Saturday afternoon and the Pioneers nabbed a share of the MonDak Conference lead by starting conference play 8-0 with a sweep of the Bismarck State Mystics on Saturday. The Pioneers plated 11 runs in the 1st inning as CF Autumn Porter hit a grand slam and then Porter followed that up with another dinger in the 3rd inning as the Pioneers dominated Bismarck State again with a 20-2 win in game 1 on Saturday afternoon. Porter went 3-4 with 2 home runs and 7 RBI in the 1st game Saturday.

2B Tessa Della Silva was 4-4 including a double and 2 RBI with 3 runs scored. Fellow Hamilton native Abby Johnson was 2-4 with 2 RBI and 2 runs scored. RF Ashlin Hiller was 2-4 with an RBI and 2 runs scored as 3B Megan Toplovich also went deep and scored twice in the route of the Mytics. 

Game 2 - Pioneers 13... Bismarck State 2

RF Tessa Della Silva continued her hot bat leading off game 2 with a solo shot as she went 3-4 with 5 RBI and 2 runs scored. The Pioneers won their 8th straight MonDak Conference game to sit atop the conference standings after 2 weeks of play. 

The Pioneers scored 7 runs in the 4th to break open a close game. 1B Lilinoe Nihi had a 2-run double in the inning as well. Catcher Aly Radford followed that up with another double and Della Silva plated Nihi and Radford with a single. 

The Pioneers with host North Dakota State College of Science next Saturday and Sunday at Mid-Rivers Field in Miles City.
