The Pioneers got off to a solid start by scoring 3 runs in the 1st inning on only one hit. Shannon Nelson (SS - Livingston, MT), Cassidy Bagnell (CF - Frenchtown, MT), and Taylor Feller (C - Laurel, MT) all walked to load the bases. Brooke Richardson (1B - Helena, MT) hit in to a fielders choice and Nelson was thrown out at home but the bases remained loaded. Dalilah Hernandez (2B - Laurel, MT) bunted Bagnell home and the bases remained loaded. Khloey Robinson (LF - Belgrade, MT) reached on an error and Feller scored and the bases were still loaded. Megan Brownson (DP - Billings, MT) drew another walk to score Richardson and the Pioneers led 3-0.

Pima hit a solo home run in the bottom of the 1st to cut the lead to 3-1. MCC failed to score the next two innings and Pima piled up a 11 spot in the 3rd inning to take a 12-3 lead. That lead held until the 5th inning and the game ended early due to the 8-run rule.

The Pioneers mustered up only 2 hits, both by Dalilah Hernandez in a 2-3 effort at the plate. MCC drew 9 walks and stole 3 bases but Pima's 3rd inning was too much to overcome.
