Game 1 - Pioneers 5... Madonna University JV 1

The Pioneers avenged Saturday's 11-5 loss to the Madonna University JV with a hard fought 5-1 victory on Wednesday afternoon in Tucson, Arizona. 

Dalilah Hernandez (2B - Laurel, MT) had the big shot of the game with a bases clearing triple that gave the Pioneers a 4-0 lead in the 3rd inning. Neither team scored in the first two innings and the Pioneers got on the board 1st when Viannca Martin (RF - Billings,  MT) reached base on a bunt error by the Madonna defense. Shannon Nelson (SS - Livingston, MT) singled and Cassidy Bagnell (CF - Frenchtown, MT) reached on another error to load the bases. Taylor Feller (C - Laurel, MT) drew a bases loaded walk to give the Pioneers a 1-0 lead before Hernandez triple to centerfield. 

Madonna scored their only run in the bottom of the 3rd and the Pioneers added an insurance run in the top of the 7th. A Feller walk followed by a 2-out single from Megan Brownson (PH - Billings, MT) and a walk from Lily Bowlin (DP - Belgrade, MT) led to Khloey Robinson (LF - Belgrade, MT) getting hit by a pitch and pinch runner Sierra Tuss (Belgrade, MT) scored. 

Shannon Nelson had a 3-3 (R, BB) effort at the plate. 

Arin Eaton pitched a complete game 7 innings (6 H, R, 5 BB, 4 SO) to pick up the win for the Pioneers.

Game 2 - Pioneers 16... Northland CC 0 (5 Innings)

MCC scored 3 runs in the first, another in the 2nd, and then piled on 8 runs in the 3rd inning to blowout Northland Community College in game 2 on Wednesday afternoon.

Shannon Nelson led the game off with a double and moved to 3rd on a single by Cassidy Bagnell. Nelson was ruled out later due to offensive interference and Brooke Richardson (DP - Helena, MT) reached base on an error and Bagnell scored. Dalilah Herndandez singled as did Arin Eaton (LF) to load the bases. Khloey Robinson and Ella Anderson (RF - Miles City, MT) drew back to back RBI walks for a 3-0 lead. 

In the 2nd inning, Nelson walked and Bagnell singled to put runners on the corners. Brooke Richardson hit an RBI sacrifice fly and the Pioneers led 4-0. 

MCC had a huge 8-run 3rd inning to take a commanding 12-0 lead. The Pioneers added 2 more in the 4th to take a 14-0 lead. Bagnell and Hernandez walked and Brownson hit a single in which Bagnell scored on an errant throw. Robinson singled to load the bases and Anderson singled to score Hernandez. 

2 more runs were pushed thru in the top of the 5th inning after Abi Maddock (1B - Belgrade, MT) reached base on an error and the scored on a triple by Sierra Tuss (2B - Belgrade, MT) and Tuss scored on a single by Bagnell. 

Bagnell had a perfect 4-4 day (2 RBI, 3 R, BB) and Robinson was 3-3 (2B, 2 RBI, R). Brownson was 2-4 (RBI, 2 R). 

Rian Ferriter (Butte, MT) pitched a complete game 3-hitter (5 I, 3 BB, 4 SO).

• 7 Pioneer batters drew walks in the game. 3 Northland batters walked.
