The Pioneers started their season with an impressive 71-49 win over last year's conference champion, NDSCS Wildcats.    MCC started slow and let NDSCS hang around in the first quarter.  A big second quarter, led by a pair of back-to-back threes by Kylee Meredith changed the momentum of the game and the Pioneers never looked back.  MCC went into half-time with a 40-21 lead.  NDSCS outscored the Pioneers in the third quarter, but MCC came back strong in the fourth to seal the victory.  

Kylee Meredith led the team in scoring with 21 points, all from beyond the 3-point line.  She was followed by Patrycja Jaworska with 15.  Jaworska also led the team in assists with five.  Lucia Salazar had a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds.

The Pioneers will be in action again on Saturday, November 3 at 11:00 am.  They will face the winner of Friday's matchup between Dawson CC and United Tribes.
